Jim Pendergast 

Jim Pendergast currently volunteers his time as Chairman of the City of San Marcos Sunset Commission, charged with reviewing 30 city commissions, boards and committees. He has also served as volunteer Chairman of the Audit Committee of Development Foundation of Texas State University.

Prior to these activities, Mr. Pendergast co-founded and served as CEO of Fiber America, Inc., a facilities-based broadband fiber optic network serving Austin and San Antonio, Texas, where he was involved in all phases of operations. In 2002, he successfully merged the company with El Paso Global Networks. For the previous 20 years, Mr. Pendergast was with San Marcos Telephone Company, where he held the positions of General Counsel, Vice President of Finance and Accounting, and President and CEO. In 1993, he facilitated the merger of San Marcos Telephone Company with CenturyTel. Mr. Pendergast has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Canisius College and Juris Doctorate with a concentration in tax, corporate and real estate law from the University of Tulsa Law School.
