Inspiring the Next Generation

CHR has been proud to support Trades Day, hosted by Triangle Communications, since its inception in 2023. Triangle Communications is based in Havre, Montana, the heart of the Hi-Line and surrounded by dozens of small rural communities. Trades Day was created to introduce today’s youth to career opportunities in the broadband industry, highlighting the many roles that support this essential field. In addition to broadband, the event also features other skilled trades, such as diesel mechanics and welding.

Through hands-on activities, students gain insight into key aspects of broadband, including construction, splicing, home installations, sales and marketing, and GIS/GPS. The goal is to build awareness of broadband careers and inspire the next generation of talent as industry veterans begin to retire.

Our own Dustin Heath and Bryan Heath, brothers who grew up in Havre, embody this mission. They began their broadband careers in 2008 and have been dedicated to Trades Day since its inception, giving back to the community that shaped them. Forward-thinking companies like Triangle Communications and CHR Solutions recognize the importance of promoting broadband awareness and positioning this industry as a viable career path for future generations.

At this year’s event, CHR Solutions will engage with Montana’s youth to discuss the engineering side of broadband—what engineering firms look for in new hires, potential career paths, and industry compensation. We are grateful to Triangle Communications for hosting this impactful event and allowing CHR to be a key partner in its success.
