Project Manager (Lubbock, Texas)
CHR Solutions is currently looking for a full-time or long-term temp employee as a Project Manager in our Engineering Practice. This position will preferably be located in our Lubbock, TX office. However; the position may be assigned to any of our CHR Solutions offices or a home based office based on experience and qualifications. The Project Manager is expected to exceed customer expectations by providing superior project management in the delivery of engineering services resulting in high quality processes and deliverables while keeping a constant focus on efficiency and cost containment. The Project Manager works collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure a successful implementation outcome. The Project Manager is responsible for effectively initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing projects assigned. The successful candidate will meet or exceed business unit goals while maintaining quality standards, controlling expenses, and following company and business unit directives and practices.Essential Functions
- Actively manage scope, schedule, and budget for assigned projects.
- Communicate effectively with all levels including clients, project resources, line managers, engineers, and corporate management.
- Create and maintain project plans.
- Maintain comprehensive, accurate client records and data files.
- Work with functional departments to determine staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
- Escalate issues to management when issues impact timeline, scope, quality, or budget; provide recommendations for issue resolution to assist in decision making.
- Direct planning, scheduling, and execution of team and client meetings to ensure proper project tracking and timely resolution to action items and issues.
- Prepare project reports for management, clients, and others as requested.
- Provide overall project management and leadership in the achievement of project and departmental business objectives while maintaining a high and consistent level of quality service and customer support and satisfaction.
- Timely review of charges and invoices for completeness and accuracy and present to client if required.
- Ability to travel up to 25% by car and/or plane, may include weekend travel. Current valid driver’s license required.
- Bachelor degree from accredited four-year college or university. Engineering or other technical degree preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
- Five or more years of project management experience working with PMI methodology.
- Five or more years of telecom or construction industry experience.
- Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) strongly desired.
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of RUS processes and procedures desired.
- Knowledge of Network Engineering including voice, data and security principals.
- Requires highly developed interpersonal skills, handling project resources, stakeholders and individual contributors with tact and finesse.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems efficiently.
- Ability to effectively utilize MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook).
