  • James Taylor

    James Taylor

    Chairman and CEO

    As the chairman and chief executive officer of CHR Solutions (CHR), James Taylor is responsible for the business performance and strategic direction of the company.

    CHR and Global 1 Source Group (G1SG), LLC, merged in December, 2006 to offer their clients the full spectrum of telecommunications, business consulting, and IT services needed to grow revenue, control costs, ensure compliance, and align information technology with business objectives.

    Mr. Taylor co-founded G1SG in 2004 and served as the company’s chairman and chief executive officer. He founded several other companies prior to G1SG, including Your Corner Office and OnSource Consulting, both Houston-based companies in which he held the position of chief executive officer positions during the 1995 to 2003 time period.

    From 1993 through 1995, James held two roles with the last being the national director of network and systems outsourcing and he began his career with them as the practice director of professional at The Future Now Corporation, a $1 billion dollar independent systems integration company.

    From 1991 through 1993, Mr. Taylor was the national account manager for Network General Corporation responsible for the development of new sales territories and strategic alliances. During his tenure at NETG, his territory grew from zero dollars in sales to a multi-million dollar per year operating unit with average margins greater than 85%.

    From 1982 through 1991, Mr. Taylor quickly advanced through management at the Sears Roebuck & Company serving in nine capacities, five of which had total P&L responsibilities.

    He is a nationally recognized speaker and instructor on technology and business subjects at Networld + Interop, Comdex, NTCA, RICA, TSTCI, Database World, Houston Chapter of Fraud Examiners, National Forum of Black City Administrators, Texas A&M Executive MBA Program, University of Arizona MBA Program, Entrepreneurs Forum, Department of Justice CIO Conference, CHR Forum and many others.

    James currently serves as a director on the Houston Technology Center’s Advisory Board (a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization) and as chairman of the constituent survey subcommittee. He also previously served as the chairman of the board for International Gymnastics Academy, a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization for three years. He was involved in the G8 Economic Summit in 1990, was one of the four members of the MIS steering committee for the Houston Host Committee (the 1992 Republican Convention), was on the 2002 ASIATEX economic summit, as well as many other community activities. Mr. Taylor has been married to his wife, Mary for 27 years and together they have two daughters, Cassie and Andie.

    Arun Pasrija

    President and COO

    As the president and chief operating officer of CHR Solutions (CHR), Dr. Pasrija manages the P&L for the company’s two business units: Client Services and Client Solutions.

    CHR's vision is to grow into a nationwide telecommunications/IT infrastructure company providing infrastructure services, remote infrastructure management, business process outsourcing, and business consulting and engineering services focused on rural telecommunications and Fortune 2000 energy and financial services companies within the next five years.

    CHR was ranked as the fourth fastest-growing technology company headquartered in Houston by the Houston Business Journal in its annual FastTech 50 list published on November 6, 2007.

    As a co-founder of G1SG, Dr. Pasrija managed the P&L for four business units: Business Consulting, Infrastructure Services, Business Applications, and Outsourcing Services. He has led the successful integration of five small companies, acquired by G1SG in 2004 to start the business, which delivered organic revenue growth of 105% in 2005. He was instrumental in orchestrating the merger with CHR.

    Prior to the co-founding of G1SG, Dr. Pasrija was senior vice president of operations for L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) Prime Wave Division. In that capacity, he was responsible for the entire operations of the company including the commercialization of new products, information technology, manufacturing, customer contracts and deployment, and after-sales warranty support. Under his seasoned leadership, he successfully reduced product manufacturing costs by 50%, built teams and processes, led the merger of two companies into an integrated organization, closed the acquisition of a next-generation technology start-up company, and led the development of web-based business processes, from sales to deployment, which improved customer satisfaction. At L-3, he also spearheaded the efforts to start an off shore field engineering organization in India.

    Prior to L-3, Dr. Pasrija spent 16 years at Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU) advancing through a variety of capacities. In his most recent role, Dr. Pasrija was the general manager of the $480 million Power & Accessories Division, with complete P&L responsibilities for the operating division. Under his leadership, the Power & Accessories Division’s revenue grew profitably by over 20% from worldwide markets including telecommunications service providers and OEM’s.

    Prior to his role as general manager, Dr. Pasrija served as director of product development and engineering for $1 billion group responsible for strategic planning and implementation, new product definitions and development, technology roadmaps, and engineering support for the entire product line. He led a global staff of 150 with an operating budget in excess of $25 million. His operating division realized global R&D expansion into China, India, Brazil, and Europe while managing revenue growth rates in excess of 25% from new product lines.

    Prior thereto, Dr. Pasrija was the managing director of India Operations in Bangalore (as the expatriate country manager) for Power Group, accountable for the P&L for the country operations, sales and marketing, business management, design, manufacturing and after-sales support. Under his leadership, the India market grew from scratch to more than $10 million in revenue, with one of the product lines achieving an unprecedented 50% market share. During his tenure as managing director, Dr. Pasrija supervised the successful partner negotiations to move operations into the larger Lucent – Tata joint venture.

    Dr. Pasrija held the position of manager within the Advanced Controller Architecture and Systems Test and was a member of the technical staff within the Bell Laboratories as a systems engineer.

    Dr. Pasrija received his Ph.D. and a M.S. from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA; a mini-MBA from Pennsylvania State University; and his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology & Science in Pilani, India. Dr. Pasrija and his wife, Geeta, have two children, a daughter, Nikki, and son, Kunal.

    Mark Vance

    Chief Financial Officer

    Mark Vance, CFO, was named the 2010 CFO of the Year for Mid-Market Private Companies by the Houston Business Journal.

    Mr. Vance is a strategic and financial leader whose former executive management positions include CFO, SVP, and COO. His work environments include service, private, domestic, and international arenas.

    Mr. Vance has strong experience in raising capital through private and public offerings and is accomplished in organization restructuring, financial and strategic planning, and operation improvements, using a total team approach. He also has extensive experience in channel development and strategic alliance programs to accelerate revenue growth.

    From 2002 to mid-2005, Mr. Vance was the senior executive in charge of strategic alliances with Worksafe, Inc. (Dallas, TX) and YCO Services (Houston, TX). Most recently, he developed Worksafe's strategic plan and led the mezzanine fund raise with private equity groups in the U.S. At YCO Services, he created an alliance partnership with Compaq/Hewlett Packard for the distribution of professional services.

    From 1998 to 2001, Mr. Vance was vice president of business development and CFO of Control Network System Inc. in Los Angeles. This $17 million privately held, fully integrated company developed international voice over data networks between the U.S. and Asia and was acquired by Total Axcess Inc. in December 2001. A company founder, he developed strategic relationships that contributed more than 25% of company revenue, in adding to managing all financial affairs, cash management and investor relations.

    Mr. Vance was a founder and served as senior vice president and CFO of Telescape International Inc. (Houston, TX) from 1996 to 1997. This $24 million NASDAQ company provided competitive communications services in Eastern Europe and Latin America. He developed the business plan and investor presentation and succeeded in raising first rounds of private equity funding, positioning the company for an IPO.

    Prior, he was a founder and developed the strategic plan for a $10 million private equity raise with Alex Brown that led to merger of Matrix Telecom and DNS Communications (Dallas, TX) creating a formidable competitor in the industry. He served as COO and CFO —including management of the finance, legal, accounting, human resources, information services and insurance departments—from 1993 to 1995.

    He served as director of finance (and CFO of a subsidiary) at Wiltel Corporation (Houston, TX) from 1992 to 1993. This wholly owned subsidiary of the Williams Companies, a Fortune 100 NYSE company located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was a $40 million dollar multi-national subsidiary that developed private voice and data networks for businesses in the United States. While there, he developed and instituted a Latin American distributorship program for the company, including strategic marketing, pricing and sales policies.

    Mr. Vance served as a financial analyst, controller and tax manager with various companies within the energy industry in Houston from 1976 to 1991 including Mitchell Energy, Quintana Petroleum, and Texaco.

    He received his MBA in Accounting from the University of Houston in 1979, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from LSU in 1976.

    Mr. Vance has served the United Way in fund raising efforts, is a member of the Financial Executives Institute, and a founder and member of Business Resource Group of Houston.

  • Kimberley Burke

    Kimberley Burke

    Head of Human Resources

    Kimberley Burke is responsible for Human Resources at CHR Solutions. Prior to joining CHR in 2011, Ms. Burke worked as a management consultant focused on organization development, compensation plans and strategies, and leading change management initiatives. She has provided clients with leadership and management development training and the implementation of solutions to improve business performance.

    Prior to that she served as the Senior Vice President—Human Resources for Molina Healthcare and Vice President—Corporate Human Resources and Vice President—Compensation, Benefits, Payroll and HR Technology for the Methodist Health Care System in Houston, where she worked with CHR Board Member, Don Benson. She has also served in senior HR leadership roles at Prudential Bank, Unum Corporation and Sovran Financial (now Bank of America). Ms. Burke is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and member of the American Compensation Association and the Society for Human Resources Management.

  • Marc Hayden

    Marc Hayden

    Head of Sales and Marketing

    Marc Hayden oversees Sales and Business Development; Marketing; Product Development and Management; and Sales Operations.

    Prior to CHR, Marc was the Managing Partner of Force Multiplier International, a global consulting company focused on strategic planning and market development.

    Mr. Hayden brings over 20 years of commercial and military communications experience having held domestic and international sales and management positions with premier telecommunications companies including Redknee, Harris Corporation, Openet Telecommunications, Inc. and ADC Telecommunications, Inc. Mr. Hayden graduated with honors in Middle Eastern Studies from the Defense Language Institute and served with the United States Marine Corps. He received his MBA in International Business and Entrepreneurship from Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business and serves on the Board of Directors of the Healthy Start Coalition of Brevard County, Florida and the Brevard Lacrosse Association.

  • Sean Fitzsimmons

    Sean Fitzsimmons

    Head of Client Solutions Business Unit

    Sean Fitzsimmons is Head of the Client Solutions Business Unit, reporting to the President/COO. He joined CHR in December, 2010.

    Mr. Fitzsimmons manages and directs the team responsible for designing and implementing client-centric solutions including network engineering and systems integration, engineering field services, business and regulatory compliance, marketing services, financial services, and wireless services.

    Prior to CHR, Mr. Fitzsimmons spent three years as chief operations officer of a wholesale distribution company in Charlotte, North Carolina. There he transitioned and packaged the organization for successful sale-off transactions through market positioning strategies, operational excellence, supply chain management (SCM) optimization and financial stewardship.

    He spent two years at West Corp (Intrado, Inc.) as managing director, VoIP, CLEC and System Integration Business Units for a $200 million leading solution provider of mission-critical emergency (911) communication and IT technology services with locations in America, Europe and Asia. Under his leadership, Intrado built the nation’s largest peering network covering over 98% of the US population. Prior to that role, he was managing director, wireless operations for four years responsible for the operation management of wireless service delivery to Tier 1 telecommunications providers Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint.

    Mr. Fitzsimmons spent two years at PRC/Litton as telecommunications director in which he managed the wireline and wireless telecom operations for PRC, the leading provider of technology based solutions for government sector clients, contracted for the Army’s Yuma Proving Grounds installation. He was responsible for the Central Office, telecom engineering, installation, outside plant and maintenance departments as well as communications project management. He worked for Southwest Data for two years as field manager providing solution management for cellular systems in various Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets. He was responsible for various markets service management, project management, RF engineering and vendor management.

    Mr. Fitzsimmons spent five years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He holds an Executive MBA from Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management of Communication and Media Technology from Regis University.

  • Shafique Pappa

    Shafique Pappa

    Head of Client Services Business Unit

    Shafique Pappa is in charge of the Client Services Business Unit at CHR Solutions. He is responsible for overseeing the adoption of technology, information systems architecture, software development, business process outsourcing, technical support, and software implementations for our clients.

    Mr. Pappa has more than 26 years of experience in information systems architecture and software development for mid-market clients.

    His recent experience includes helping clients evaluate and select the proper technology portfolio for their companies, developed custom programs for forecasting, control systems, inventory and workforce management, overseeing the code conversion of an outdated call center program to an industry-standard platform, and implementing customer relationship management (CRM) programs among others.

    During the 1990’s, he oversaw the implementation of over 40 ERP systems for mid-market clients along with overhauling the entire IT infrastructure. Prior to his company’s merger with Global 1 Source Group, he was the founder, president and CEO of EPIC Managed Services, Inc., an information technology company specializing in managed deployment and development services. He was founder and Chief Technology Officer of Baypar, Inc., specializing in business-to-business applications. He served as Chief Technology Officer of First Edge Sornson, specializing in mid-market back office and front-office application deployments.

    He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Purdue University, a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and a degree in Executive Management from the University of Houston.
